Cadence Announces Sign-Off Status for Its NC-Verilog Simulator At Mitsubishi Electric Corporation

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 12, 2001-- Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NYSE:CDN), the world's leading supplier of electronic design products and services, today announced that Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has certified the Cadence® NC-Verilog logic simulation technology as sign-off quality for its ASIC technologies. As a result, NC-Verilog now provides Mitsubishi designers with an effective solution to meet Verilog HDL needs for System-on-Chip (SoC) designs. Mitsubishi and Cadence developed next-generation accurate timing simulation technology -- called Enhanced Timing Output -- for NC-Verilog® so that logic simulation timing accuracy can be applied to the next deep submicron process.

``NC-Verilog is the fastest, most accurate, and most integrated Verilog HDL simulator on the market,'' said Teruaki Harada, Project Manager, EDA Application Project Group, System LSI Division, Semiconductor Group at Mitsubishi Electric Corporation. ``This makes it ideal for accurately verifying large designs in the shortest amount of time.''

``Mitsubishi's endorsement of NC-Verilog is a real win for our mutual customers,'' said Rahul Razdan, corporate vice president and general manager of the Systems and Functional Verification group at Cadence. ``This support gives our common customers the ability to use the industry's leading Verilog HDL simulator for all aspects of the design simulation process when employing Mitsubishi's advanced technologies. Mitsubishi's backing validates that NC-Verilog is the ideal choice for customers using leading-edge technology.''
